The Chicago Tribune endorses Carlos!

The Chicago Tribune has endorsed Carlos Ramirez-Rosa for 35th Ward Alderman, stating:

"Incumbent Rey Colon strikes us as one tired alderman. Maybe it's just the contrast with his enthusiastic and well-prepared opponent, Carlos Ramirez-Rosa, an organizer with the Illinois Coalition for Immigration and Refugee Rights. He offers fresh ideas to reinvigorate the ward, which includes parts of Avondale and Logan Square. He wants to build a database of suspected drug houses and aggressively clear them out. He wants to match new businesses with constituents who are looking for work. He thinks Logan Square could attract a boutique hotel. He recognizes the city cannot continue to spend money it doesn't have. Colon has been a steady overseer of the ward, but Ramirez-Rosa would be a more aggressive advocate, and he is endorsed."
