ABOUT ME

My name is Carlos Rosa and I serve the people of Illinois' fourth congressional district as an aide to Representative Luis V. Gutierrez.  As the Congressman's aide tasked with education issues I am well versed in education policy and have assisted hundreds of students.

I'm committed to spurring social change and believe that in order to better our society we must focus on our youth.  I have successfully recruited dozens of Sullivan High School students to get involved in local politics and have served as a mentor and debate coach to three Sullivan High School students.  I'm happy to report that all three students have been accepted to four-year universities.

I graduated in 2011 from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign with a B.A. in Political Science and Minor in Latina/Latino Studies.  I am a lifelong resident of Chicago's north side and proud product of our Chicago Public Schools.

MY PLAN
  • Reach out to local businesses and non-for-profits to support Sullivan students with donations of resources, money, volunteer opportunities, and summer employment.
  • Support restorative justice policies and programs to successfully and constructively address student misbehavior.
  • Support programs that positively engage Sullivan students in our community.
  • Invigorate our school's LSC.
  • Involve the local community in crafting school policies and improving our local school.
