Carlos Daniel Rosa is a progressive young professional who currently serves the people of Illinois’ fourth congressional district as an aide to Representative Luis V. Gutiérrez. Committed to spurring social change, Carlos has successfully promoted progressive causes via new and traditional media. He has organized actions that have been covered by the Associated Press, The Huffington Post, Chicago Tribune, Chicago Reader, and local affiliates of all major television networks; and produced videos that have received tens of thousands of views on YouTube. As the director of new media for Congressman Gutierrez, Carlos' pro-immigrant social media campaigns have been recognized by Colorlines, Jezebel, Latino Rebels, NBC Latino and The Huffington Post. Carlos began his involvement in progressive politics in 2007, when as a high school senior he worked as full-time field staff on two Chicago aldermanic campaigns. In 2010 Carlos worked for the AFL-CIO as a Union Summer for Jobs Intern. In this capacity he assisted the Chicago Federation of Labor and their local affiliates with organizing actions, community outreach, and strategic research. Carlos graduated from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign in 2011 with a B.A. in Political Science and Minor in Latina/Latino Studies. At the University of Illinois, Carlos served two terms on the Student Senate, one term as a Democratic Committeeman, and spearheaded the successful effort to create an LGBTQ and women's programming fee.
